More "Thankfuls" for this month!

It is May!  So "May" at our house- so much going on in life right now....

but that means so much to be thankful for too:

Thankful for May:

May is Foster Care Awareness Month- an issue near and dear to me
because I fostered 30 children, adopting my youngest son from the foster care system

May is Mental Health Awareness Month- a cause I am very personally affected by :(

May is the month dedicated to Our Blessed Mother in the Catholic Church- I have a strong devotion and connection to the Blessed Virgin Mary- for a million reasons and they all come to one- she leads us closer to her son, our Savior.

Thankful for: my home

We have lived in the same modest, little house for 22 years. Lately, I've been buying some new old things-- antique and vintage furniture--I've been making some small updates around the house too, to make it more functional, more fun, more "me"....

My daughter bought this antique student desk for me...I don't even have it yet but I know it's coming soon and I just LOVE it!

I painted this tree for the family room wall...

And created a "gallery wall" over the couch, with my paintings
(and one my daughter made as well.)

I bought an old fashioned "hoosier cabinet" (bread maker's table). We are re-furbishing it to make it a computer desk. I'm just as excited about this as my "student desk"...they are going to look so good together and give our home a little character.

And the coffee bar my husband and I created. It was all free from things we had already. We took some "vintage furniture" and re-configured and repurposed it all into this and I use it daily....multiple times a day, that is! Thankful for: COFFEE!

Thankful for: signs of a busy full life

I am a total minimalist (and much of my new home decor/redos have to do with organizing and de-cluttering)....but I am thankful for a refrigerator door that reflects our busy, crazy, full life. Kids drawings, photographs of precious memories, notes from school. It is the only clutter I can enjoy and appreciate in my house. It drives my husband crazy and my mom gets hives when she comes to visit and sees all the chaos pinned up there... But to me a house is not a home unless the fridge is covered in all our joyful stuff.  It makes me smile.

Thankful for: Squishmallows!

Soft, squishable adorableness that has become totally addictive for my kids and I.
I won't tell you how many of these are mine or how many belong to my children...but I will say it is a good thing my husband and I have a king sized bed.  Oh.... and the wild kid diving into them all? That is one of the brightest lights of my life....my youngest son, the one I adopted after fostering for 3 years. Irresistible!😊

Thankful for: My May graduates
pre-school, eighth grade, and high school.
My oldest son will be graduating with an Associates Degree in July.
So proud of all 4 of my amazing, hard-working graduates,
(and my other 2 awesome children also. They are not graduating this year...but they do work hard in so many ways themselves.)

Thankful for: a few minutes to actually type and post this during this insanely packed month!

God Bless and thank YOU for letting me share my blessings and gratitude.
